Description
You use this program to archive and delete material master records.
The system uses the dataset that it determines from your selectioncriteria to carry out the necessary checks for each relevant materialmaster table.
If the outcome of these checks is to allow the corresponding entries tobe deleted, the system archives the entries together with any entries independent tables.
If the system was able to close the archive file, the deletion programis started automatically, and the data is deleted from the databasetables.
You have the following options with this program:

• Archiving and deleting only those material master records that are
flagged for deletion
In this case, you do not set the Consider materials withoutdeletion flag indicator.

• Archiving and deleting all material master records that can be archived
and deleted, irrespective of whether they are flagged for deletion ornot
In this case, you set the indicator.
In both cases, the system checks whether the materials can be deletedbefore proceeding.

• Selecting materials on the basis of the period between the flagging of a
material for deletion and its actual deletion
This option is available only in retail systems. For more information,see the corresponding documentation for the Selecton a time basis indicator.

• Cancelling the deletion flags of materials that could not be deleted

Technical Settings
You can run the program in one of the following modes:


• If the Test mode indicator is set (default value), the system
carries out the checks, but does not archive or delete the data in thedatabase.

• If the Test mode indicator is not set, the system carries out the
checks, and archives and deletes the data in the database.

Output
In the log, the system lists the results of the individual checks and itrecords the archiving process. If a material master record at aparticular organizational level could not be archived and deleted, youcan see why here.
