These inconsistencies arise when BOM items are not fully deleted from databases, only marked logically, leading to discrepancies across BOM-related tables like STPO and STAS. SAP has developed reports (ZZITMTC4, ZZITMTD4, ZZITMTD5, ZZITMTDOC) to manage these issues, offering capabilities to identify and optionally remove these inconsistencies, thereby maintaining data integrity and operational efficiency in material management. Caution is advised as certain reports delete BOM history in update mode.
