Summary :
This SAP Note addresses problems identified after the R/3 3.0F installation guide for Windows NT with DB2 on OS/390 was published. It introduces the HPDT UDP communication protocol, discontinuing support for TCP/IP between ICLI clients and servers. Installation prerequisites include SAP CD 8012 and OS/390 PTF UW38937 with the ICLI update. APAR AQ03737 details configuring HPDT UDP and lists necessary PTFs. Also, potential CSA/ECSA storage issues during large DB2 operations are explored with solutions provided to adjust MAXCSA settings within the ICLI procedure. Recommendations for system configuration updates through PTFs are also provided.
