SAP Note 736557 - Changes made with the Config Tool are disregarded

Component : Java stack local admin tools - Please use sub-components -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/736557 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
Issues observed include inapplicability of Java parameter changes via the config tool, non-updating of /usr/sap///cluster/instance.properties, and VM initialization errors due to heap size disparity. The core issue arises from the bootstrap process of J2EE Engine (prior to version 6.30 SP4) which improperly sets the bootstrap.MaxHeapSize in the instance.properties, hindering subsequent updates. Solutions involve manually removing the erroneous property from the system file and correcting this in the database using the offline config tool, followed by a cluster restart.
