SAP Note 710146 - How to change J2EE Engine JVM Settings

Component : Java Application Server - Please use sub-components -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/710146 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
During the installation of a J2EE engine, the SAP Configtool is used to adjust JVM settings, critical for performance tuning. Located in the J2EE Engine's directory, it allows customization of Java parameters by accessing cluster_data/instance_ID/server_ID via configtool.bat (.sh for UNIX). Each server node, including the dispatcher, necessitates individual parameter updates. Post-modification, changes are saved and the cluster restarted. The changes can be verified in the instance.properties file, which reflects new JavaParameters. Maximum Heap Size can be set via Max Heap Size control or directly as a -Xmx command, with the latter configuration taking precedence if duplicated. For further details, refer to SAP Note 736557.

Key words :
\usr\sap\c11\jc00\j2ee\configtool, terms configtool jvm parameters tuning reason, dedicated max heap size control, define maximal heap size, > command line parameter automatically, max heap size control, line id<server id>, j2ee engine directory tree, java command line parameters, max heap size
