Summary :
This SAP Note explains discrepancies between scrap calculations in APO and R/3 systems due to differences in the scrap calculation base: percentages in APO are of total quantity, whereas in R/3, they're of the yield. Various issues are addressed, such as different planning results, effects of scrap on lot sizing, and how rounding problems can occur when converting between systems. Recommendations are given to manage assembly and operation scrap to ensure consistent planning results between the two systems. Additionally, no system changes are planned as the existing calculations in APO are considered accurate, and changes could degrade performance.
