SAP Note 336693 - Replacing or installing librfc32.dll on Microsoft Windows

Component : RFC - Java-Connector

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/336693 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
This SAP Note discusses replacing or installing the RFC library required for the SAP GUI for Windows or the SAP Java Connector (JCo) on Windows platforms. The Note specifies that for Windows IA32 and IA64 systems, the RFC library is installed in the {windows-dir}\system32 directory, whereas for x64 systems, the library is located in {windows-dir}\SysWOW64. Before updating the RFC library, users must halt any applications that utilize it. Post-upgrade, the system will prioritize the RFC libraries in its directory hierarchy, rendering unnecessary the registry update previously needed with regsvr32. Copies of the RFC library outside the system directory should be removed to avoid conflicts.
