SAP Note 1771258 - Linux: User and system resource limits

Component : Linux -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1771258 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
SAP Note addresses issues where SAP systems may halt due to OS resource limits being met and when certain limits for SAP processes like disp+work aren't utilized as set in /etc/security/limits.conf. It's crucial for stable operations to appropriately configure process resource thresholds on Linux systems. Such configurations can be done through /etc/security/limits.conf or /etc/security/limits.d/. It's recommended to update to SAP Kernel 720 PL 400 or higher for full integration of the Linux PAM framework, ensuring process resource configurations are effectively applied. Resource constraints defined in the limits.conf will override any other predefined settings.
