This SAP Note provides details on the prerequisites and supported configurations for SAP server software installations on Oracle Linux (OL). The note covers hardware and software prerequisites, specifically highlighting the 64-bit x86_64 architecture and Oracle Linux 5 update 5, including both Red Hat-compatible and Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel (UEK). Oracle Linux 6 support is under planning. It details the support for SAP NetWeaver 7.0x and higher, and Unicode versions only, with SAP Java Virtual Machine (JVM) recommendations. Oracle Database 11g R2 patchset 1 is the only approved database, and application servers must connect exclusively with Oracle database.
