Summary :
SAP Note describes issues and solutions for converting SAPscript documents to PDF for Eastern European characters using Latin 2 encoding (ISO 8829-2). The standard fonts (Courier, Helvetica, Times) in the PDF converter do not support all characters from this set, which causes missing characters in the converted documents. The recommended solution is to use Latin 2 soft fonts that include all characters from ISO 8859-2. These soft fonts should be uploaded into the SAP R/3 system using the RSTXPDF bailiff and linked via SE73 transaction to SAPscript fonts for proper PDF conversion. Precautions include potential upload errors and significant increase in PDF file size due to embedded fonts. Font files should be licensed by the customer due to copyright laws.
