SAP Note 1177123 - IBM i: Setting up a destroyed kernel library again

Component : IBM AS/400 -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1177123 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
This SAP Note addresses the issue where the ILE kernel library is inadvertently deleted during patch applications, preventing further operations as ADM on AS400 systems. The deletion occurs when updating the ILE kernel using APYSIDKRN in *ADD mode, which may fail and subsequently remove the kernel library. The solution involves using SAPCAR to restore the kernel from a saved SAR archive. Steps include logging onto AS400 with proper authorizations, setting up a work directory, unpacking and setting up the ILE package in a predefined library, adjusting user concepts, and reimporting the kernel with APYSIDKRN.
