Business Payrolls Survey Report

Purpose
Statistics Canada calls on companies across Canada to participate inBusiness Payrolls Survey. Businesses which are chosen to participateare required to submit a magnetic media file containing payroll-relatedinformation on random groups of employees within their organizations.The Business Payrolls Survey Report enables you to generate anddownload a text file containing all required payroll data in the formatmandated by Statistics Canada.

Prerequisites

• You must carry out the configuration steps in the Business Payrolls
Survey section of the Legal Reporting chapter of the Canada PayrollIMG.

• You must have payroll results for the employees in your selection.


• Verify that the first nine characters of the employee subgroup texts
adequately describe the group of employees. Employee subgroupdescription texts containing more than nine characters will betruncated in the report output.

Features
This report extracts data from payroll results for the group ofemployees selected for the desired month and displays the companydetails and payroll data for the selected employees in the form of atree-structrure. This data can be then downloaded to a text file to besubmitted to Statistics Canada.

Activities
Specify the desired selection criteria in the Selection andBusiness Survey details sections of the selection screen.
Execute the report.
An output screen appears, which displays the data extracted for theemployees you selected. To download this data to a text file to submitto Statistics Canada, choose the Download Data function button.
On the dialog-box that appears, specify a local file name and directoryto which the text file should be saved.
Choose Transfer.
A company is chosen by Statistics Canada to complete the BusinessPayolls Survey and must report earnings infomation on all hourlyemployees working at the company's facility in British Columbia.
