Purpose
You use this program to archive official receipts. It makes use of thefunction modules from function group ARCH in the Archive DevelopmentKit and uses a hierarchical standard class structure. This structure iscontained in an archiving object that is defined for acomplete set of archiving tools (reports for archiving, deleting,reloading, and reading).

Features

Selection
The first time you use the archive, you must decide which selectioncriterion you want to use to select the official receipts forarchiving, and then stay with it. If you use a different criterion whenyou create other archives later on, it will make it more difficult foryou when you come to reload data.
You can run the report in test mode, and you can also set thedeletion program to run in test mode. The system then runs the deletionreport using a special variant, where you are given the opportunity tospecify that the receipts are not to be deleted. You can access thisvariant in the Customizing settings for the archivingobject. If you want to run the report in production mode, thedeletion program uses the production variant, which you can alsomaintain in the Customizing settings.
If the archive report runs in the background and you have made all thenecessary Customizing settings, the system runs the deletion reportautomatically, either after every archiving run or every time anarchive file is created. You have to specify the deletion report in theCustomizing settings for the standard class.

Output
If you have selected Create archive file, the report createsarchive files for the selected official receipts. You can automaticallyrun a deletion report in the background, in test mode if you want, sothat the receipts are not deleted. We recommend that you deletearchived data from the database as soon as possible, to preventinconsistencies.
If you run the report online, the results are displayed in an outputlist. In this case, you have to run the deletion report separately.
The deletion report also creates an entry in the index table for everyofficial receipt in the archive. This information is used by the readreport to determine where the official receipts are in the table.
