Title
Changing the Assignment of a Hierarchy Variant to a FM Area/Fiscal Year

Purpose
You can use this program to remove the assignment of a hierarchyvariant to a FM area/fiscal year and replace it with a new hierarchyvariant. It is also possible to remove the assignments of "empty"hierarchy variants.
You can use the program for the following cases:

  • Changing the funds center master record or the funds center
    • hierarchy.
    A hierarchy variant is assigned to more than one fiscal year. Thismeans that the funds centers and their hierarchy relationships areidentical for all fiscal years affected. However, you want to reducethe existence interval of a funds center, or change the funds centerhierarchy for one of the fiscal years affected. If you assign a newhierarchy variant, the funds centers and their hierarchy references aresplit between several fiscal years.
    • Changing the key of a hierarchy variant

      • You want to change the 4-character key of a hierarchy variant, forexample, because only 3-character keys are permitted in BW.

      Prerequisites
      You have created the new hierarchy variants underCreate/Change Hierarchy Variant

      • The new hierarchy variant does not contain any funds centers yet

      • The new hierarchy variant is not assigned to any fiscal years under
        • Assign Hierarchy Variant to FM Area.

        Features
        The program copies the fund center hierarchies in a hierarchy variantto a new hierarchy variant and simultaneously replaces the assignmentto the FM area/fiscal year if you have set the selection fieldReplace with.
        If you have set the selection field Delete, you can remove theassignments of empty hierarchy variants to a FM area/fiscal year.

        Output
        The program confirms the activities that have been carried out on thescreen.

        Activities
        Define the FM area and fiscal year in which the hierarchy variantassignment should be changed.
        If you want to assign a new hierarchy variant for the FM area/fiscalyear entered, then select Replace with and enter the newhierarchy variant there.
        If you want to remove the assignment for an (empty) hierarchy variant,select Delete.
        Execute the program
