Archive Data Exchange Task

Purpose
Archiving consists of the following two steps:
Analysis and test of archivability of data exchange tasks
Writing of data exchange tasks to an archive file, based on the analysisexecuted in the first step
The Archive Data Exchange Task report is the first step
The archiving object comprises the following data:

  • EDEXTASK: Data exchange task (header)

  • EDEXTASKASS, EDEXTASKIDOC, EDEXTASKREF, EDEXTASKWKFLOW and
  • EDEXTASKERROR: Data xxchange task (reference values)
    • The archiving object for data exchange tasks is ISU_DEXTAS

    • Use transaction AOBJ to find the definition of the archiving object and
    • the corresponding Customizing settings
      • Use transaction SARA to find the archive administration and the
      • corresponding Customizing settings
        • Use transaction SARI to find the technical view for the archived data
        • exchange tasks

          Integration
The archiving of data exchange tasks incorporates the following reports:
The system analyzes data exchange tasks
Those documents that can be archived are written to the archive file.
          Deletion reports
Data exchange tasks in the archive file are deleted from thecorresponding database tables.

          Features
The archiving report selects only data exchange tasks whose retentionperiod has expired.
You can define the retention period in Customizing, under DefineRetention Period for Archiving Objects (SAP Utilities -> Tools ->Archiving -> Define Retention Period for Archiving Objects).
You can use the ISU_DEXTAS_ARCHIVE BAdI in a subsequent analysis processto define additional checks for the archivability of data exchangetasks.
          Archivability Checks:
Different kinds of checks are performed before data exchange tasks arearchived These checks can be grouped by areas.

          • Retention period check. A data exchange task is archived if:

          • The retention date set in Customizing is greater than the data exchangedue date. For example, if the Retn. Per. field for a terminated dataexchange task contains 30 days, a data exchange task can only bearchived if at least 30 days have passed since the due date.

            Selection
You can make the following settings when you start the report:

            • Archived due date: Restrict the selection to specific data exchange
            • tasks, or to a range of documents
              • Test mode: No changes are made in the database if you start the report
              • in test mode
                • Production mode: Changes are made in the database

                • Detail log: Write detailed information to the log for each analyzed data
                • record. On the report selection screen, the user can choose to hide thisinformation in the report by selecting No Detail Log, or see only errormessages by selecting Without Success Message, if desired
                  • Log output: Controls the way information appears on the screen
