Title
Configure the System Landscape

Purpose
Configures the system landscape.
It configures the client settings and sets the system change option.

Integration
The report INST_LANDSCAPE is called as part of a SmartImplementation or via the transaction INST_CUSTOM.
For security reasons, the report cannot be executed directly.

Features

Selection
The selection parameters are

  • The clients to be set up CLNT1 to CLNT6 (of which only
  • the parameter CLNT1 must be filled)
    • The corresponding client categories CLNTATT1 to CLNTATT6
    • with the permitted values
      D = Demo
      E = Training
      T = Test
      C = Customizing/development
      P = Production
      X = Sandbox
      X becomes E (training) when the client is created.
      • The corresponding client IDs CLNTTXT1 to CLNTTXT6.

      • The system landscape LANDSCAP (1-, 2-, ... system landscape)

      • The role of the system ROLE (T = Test/development or P =
      • Production)
        All parameters must be stored in the table INSTPARA.

        Activities
        The clients are entered in the table T000. The client settingsare made according to the function of the client.

        • In clients 000 and 001, customizing changes and development are not
        • allowed.
          • In customizing clients, customizing changes are automatically recorded.
          • Changes to repository and client-independent customizing are onlyallowed if it is not a one-system landscape.
            • In training, demo, or test clients, customizing changes and development
            • are not allowed. CATT processes are not allowed.
              • In sandbox clients, unrecorded customizing changes are possible.
              • Development is not allowed. CATT processes can be started.
                • In live clients, customizing changes, development, and CATT processes
                • are not allowed.
                  • After the clients have been set up, the report INST_SYSTEM_CHANGE

                  • is called, which sets the system change option.
