Purpose
This program is used to execute process steps in anassignment process.

Integration
Processing is triggered by the processcontroller.

Prerequisites
A workflow must not have been started for theassignment process for which the step is to be executed. Otherwiseprocessing is rejected. This is necessary to avoid potential conflictswith workflow-driven processing.
The process step that is to be scheduled for processing must be validfor execution with the current program. Process steps that have aworkflow template for subsequent processing orthat check the dialog of a worklist are not permitted.

Selection
Processing can either be online or as a background job. If you choosebackground processing, you must specify the name of a background job andthe starting time.

Activities
Select an assignment process and a corresponding process step.
Carry out processing either online or as a background job.
