Purpose
The application cloner letsyou clone a target application from a source application.
The target application data is generated in the same client as thesource application data. The application definition can be generated inany client of the system using an RFC destination.

Start the application cloner with transactionCACS_CLONE since this is the only way of copyingthe condition records consistently.

You have the option of first running the application cloner in testmode. In this case, no database changes are made.
You must first clone the cross-client data!
After this, you can clone the client-specific data, master data andtransaction data in one step.

Selection
Application cloning comprises the following process steps:
Cloning of application administration
Cloning of cross-client data (construction data in particular)
Automatic generation of new target application
Cloning of client-specific data
Cloning of master data
Cloning of transaction data

Activity
The following prerequisites must be met before the program can bestarted:

• If the application administration is handled in a different client from
the actual application, an RFC connection must exist to the client ofthe application to which the executing user is automatically logged on.The program must be started in the client of the applicationadministration.

• You must be authorized to create an application and administer master
data.

• A source application must exist.


• The source application must not be productive.
