***********************************************************************
The RNLICICP program creates an evaluation of cases in relation tocombinations of surgical procedure codes (ICPM) and diagnoses (ICD). Foreach combination, the program outputs the number of correspondingoccurrences, the length of the department stay relating to the surgeryand the total length of the patient's stay. A case log contains thecases included in the combinations.
The program only considers combinations that were entered in thesurgical data entry transaction. In particular, combinations of surgicalprocedure codes and diagnoses of inpatient movements are not considered.

Preconditions
The specification of the institution and evaluation period is mandatory.Prior to executing the program, the system checks the reportauthorization for the report group N_STAT.
By specifying further selection criteria, you can restrict the dataincluded in the evaluation as follows:

  • Evaluation period: Only surgeries in this time interval are considered.
  • The date/time of a surgery is defined as the date/time of the relatedservice.
    • Case: With this selection only particular cases can be evaluated.

    • Case type: The case types to be evaluated can be restricted.

    • Discharged cases only: If you select this option, only discharged cases
    • are taken into account. If this option is not selected, the system usesthe end date of the evaluation period as the discharge date of thenon-discharged cases.
      • Statistics block: If you select this option, the program takes into
      • account the statistics block indicator of the case.
        • Departmental organizational unit: The program only evaluates surgeries
        • whose department stay has a departmental assignment to theorganizational units you specify here.
          • Catalog/surgical procedure code: The program only considers surgical
          • procedure codes of the catalog specified.
            • Surgical procedure main codes only: The program only considers surgical
            • procedure codes for which the main code indicator is set.
              • Catalog/diagnosis code: The program only evaluates surgeries that have
              • these codes.
                • Output length of stay: By deselecting this option, you can suppress the
                • output of the total length of stay and of the length of the departmentstay.
                  • Assignment by diagnosis: The department stay relating to a surgery is
                  • determined by identical diagnoses for the surgery and the inpatientdepartment stay. If a department stay is not found for a case, an entryis written to the error log.
                    • Assignment by time: The department stay relating to a surgery is
                    • determined by time. If the surgery occurs during an absence, thedepartment stay in which the absence occurs is used. If a departmentstay cannot be determined, an entry is written to the error log.

                      Output

                      Basic List
The program determines all combinations of surgeries and diagnoses anddisplays these in hierarchical form. The evaluation offers you twodifferent views:

                      • All diagnoses for a surgery (surgery is primary)

                      • All surgeries for a diagnosis (diagnosis is primary)

                      • You can alternate between these views as you like by choosing Goto-> View -> Surgeries or Diagnoses. The evaluation period andthe view are displayed in the list header. When you run the report, theview you set on the selection screen is displayed by default.
The data is output in a two-level hierarchical display. Attributes forthe primary object are displayed in the group header. The secondaryobjects belonging to the primary object are displayed beneath the groupheader. Attributes for the primary object constitute cumulated values ofthe secondary objects.
                        The following attributes are output:
                        • Catalog and code of the surgery or diagnosis

                        • Short text for the surgery or diagnosis

                        • Number of combinations

                        • Number of cases with this combination

                        • Length of department stay of the cases

                        • Total length of stay of the cases

                        • Average length of department stay

                        • Average total length of stay
                        • Case Log
By double-clicking a row or positioning the cursor and then choosingGoto -> Case log you obtain a list of the cases that are includedin the rows selected. The following values are displayed by default:

                          • Case

                          • Patient

                          • Length of department stay
