Description
Once the system is in productive operation, you normally run the periodclosing program once a month at the beginning of a new period. Thisprogram sets the new period, making it possible to perform goodsmovements with reference to the new period.
Once the period has been closed, it is no longer possible to makepostings to what was the previous period (that is, what is now theperiod before last). In Customizing for the Material Master, youcan define in the activity MaintainCompany Codes for Materials Management whether postings may be madeto what is now the previous period.

Precondition
To run the program in background mode, you must have created aselection variant for it.
