Budget Structure: Generate Objects from BS Templates

Purpose
Use this program to generate abudget structure (BS)using BS templates.
You execute this program if

  • you defined a new BS using BS templates

  • you made changes to a BS template that is used in a BS.

  • you made changes to the assignment of BS templates to fund centers in a
    • BS.

    Integration
    Note:
    You should not execute this program if your valid BS already hasbudget values. Changing the BS could lead to inconsistent budget data.
    If you want to execute the program anyway and in doing so make changesto a valid BS with budget data, you must subsequently reconstruct thedistributed and assigned values via Budgeting -> Tools ->Reconstruction Distributed Values and Reconstruct AssignedValues.
    If the data is inconsistent, you have two options to remove this data:

    • Execute the program for reconstructing distributed values. Then you
      • must adjust the budget values manually and execute the program forexecuting assigned values.
      • Carry out the reconstruction of budget values using the program
        • Reconstruction of Budget Values (BPDIST05) and then start thereconstruction of assigned values.
        Note:
        Program BPDIST05 does not guarantee the complete removal ofinconsistent budget data. You can find more information in theprogram documentation.

        Prerequisites

        • You have created year-independent BS templates for

          • generating year-independent BS; and have created year-dependent BStemplates for a year-dependent BS
          • BS templates and the commitment items contained in them are defined as
            • budget objects or posting objects.
            • You have defined a BS with BS templates.

              • Features
              The program generates a BS according to

              • the budget objects and posting objects defined in the BS templates

              • assignments of BS templates to fund centers made in the BS

                • The generation is done for all fiscal years in which the BS is valid.
                You can limit the generating of the BS to individual or several funds.If you do not enter a fund, the BS will be generated for all funds. Ifyou would like to generate the BS for the fund SPACE, then set theinitial value "=" (single value) and do not enter a fund.
                If you specify a particular BS template, the objects are regeneratedfor all funds that use a BS with the template specified. Enteringindividual funds will not restrict the selection.

                Activities
                Make the necessary entries and start the program via Execute.
                Do a consistency check of the BS by calling up the BS via Budgetstructure -> Display and choose Check.
                In the event of an error, you must either change the BS template or theBS (assignment of BS template to the fund centers). Then generate thebudget structure again.
