Description
This program lets you convert the row/column structures which youcreated in CO-PA Planning up to Release 2.2 so that you can use themas planning layouts in Release 3.0.
The various new possibilities in planning in Release 3.0 can causecertain problems for row/column structures from 2.2:
Release 3.0 uses a specific name range for standard planning layoutsdelivered with the system. Consequently, row/column structures whichbegin with a number cannot be converted.
In 3.0 you are required to define the characteristic of the lead columnin the planning layout (instead of when you go into planning). In orderto make it possible for you to use your 2.2 row/column structures inmulti-segment planning for which you did not specify a characteristic,this conversion program creates planning layouts with the characteristicyou specified in the parameter "Characteristic".
In 3.0 planning you can define variables for the characteristic valuesin the planning layout (similar to the information system). Whenplanning, you need to specify values for these variables. Up to andincluding Release 2.2, you could link a characteristic group to aplan version, in which case the system offered you the characteristicsin that group. Otherwise you received all the characteristics.
If you set the parameter "Characteristic group" for this program, thesystem adds corresponding variables for the characteristic values inthe general data selection of the planning layouts being converted.Otherwise it creates one variable for each characteristic. This makes itpossible for you to simulate 2.2 planning in 3.0.
Finally, you also need to specify the period type in the planninglayout. This is done using the parameter "Weekly planning".
