SAP Note 998221 - Trace levels changed inadvertently in work processes

Component : Client/Server Technology -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/998221 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
In SAP environments, an unintentional rise in trace levels of work processes can occur post a soft cancel initiated by a transaction termination in SAP GUI. This increment is triggered when the dispatcher communicates a cancellation to the active work process and sends a USR2 signal, leading to an unintended adjustment in trace levels if the ABAP segment responds promptly after transaction reset. Workarounds include manual resetting of trace levels via SM50 or setting the rdisp/TRACE_PATTERN_0 parameter. Complete resolution is provided through kernel patches for versions 4.6D, 6.40, and 7.00.
