SAP Note 96397 - NT: No display of HW info and OS syslog in ST06

Component : Monitoring -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/96397 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
Release 3.1H implementation in SAP has resulted in non-display of os_sys.log and hardware configuration descriptions in SAPOSCOL transactions OS06/ST06. Two primary issues identified include non-existence of DIR_PERF directory and incorrect default directory setting in instance profiles. Temporary fixes involve command line startup of saposcol or setting the DIR_PERF parameter in the system environment, necessitating a system restart. As a long-term remedy, kernel patches are recommended along with creating the PRFCLOG directory. Ensure kernel patch levels of 3.1I to PL 293, 4.0B to PL 428, and 4.5B to PL 110 are implemented for full resolution.
