Summary :
Queries modified in BEx Query Designer 2004s cannot be opened in earlier versions due to incompatibility with new functionality introduced in 2004s. Features that do not exist in previous versions (e.g., certain types of variables) cause a version incompatibility error when attempted to open with BEx Query Designer 3.x. A backup mechanism is in place for queries originally created in 3.x when edited in 2004s, with the backups preserving the last editable state compatible with 3.x. A manual restoration process via the ABAP report COMPONENT_RESTORE is available for migrated queries. Implementing the provided code correction is necessary to enable backup functionality.
