SAP Note 942804 - Background infrastructure: Generating job counts

Component : Background Processing -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/942804 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
This SAP Note addresses issues in the job scheduling function where job creation intermittently fails and periodic jobs do not generate successors. The underlying problem stems from limitations in the original job count model, which restricted job counts to 99 unique instances per unique timecode, leading to potential exhaustion of job counts. The revised model extends the range of job counts to 1296 by including alphanumeric indices, mitigating but not entirely resolving the occurrence of these issues. Users are advised to periodically delete old jobs and no changes are required for job creation or maintenance post-update.

Key words :
> <newly generated job count> exists, generated job count, terms reschedule reason, relevant support package, time <hhmmss> indicating, correction instructions import, unassigned job count, type <time><index>, valid job identifier, free job counts
