Summary :
In environments utilizing cost-of-sales accounting and functional areas, users face issues setting the Functional Area field as a required entry in cost center master data. Standard SAP does not mandate this setting. To modify this, users previously implementing Note 318724 must reverse the modification. Stepwise, implement program corrections attached to this note, enable the 'Functional Area' as mandatory via transaction KS12 using '=FUNC_AREA_MANDATORY', and revert changes using '=FUNC_AREA_OLD'. Note that this field becomes required for all historical and future entries, affecting time-dependent master data of cost centers.
