SAP Note 923247 - R1M entries in the syslog

Component : Client/Server Technology -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/923247 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
When logging onto a remote system from SM59 in a NW2004s environment (kernel 700), syslog entries "R1M Trace adopted by remote client" can appear even without trace enablement in the sending system, affecting interactions with older SAP system versions. This is linked to a kernel bug observed when lower patch levels (<53) are used. The resolution includes updating the kernel in the NW2004s system to patch level 53 or higher, or updating the older systems (4.6D to patch level 2225, 6.40 to patch level 122). Alternatively, setting gw/accept_remote_trace_level and rdisp/accept_remote_trace_level to 0 can serve as a temporary fix.

Key words :
terms r1m trace adopted reason, r1m trace adopted, parameters gw/accept_remote_trace_level, remote clientthis symptom, patch level lower, trace level, patch levels, rdisp/accept_remote_trace_level, remote system, sending system
