Summary :
SAP Note addresses issues in password generation using Transactions SU01, SU10, or API functions influenced by Customizing switches in the PRGN_CUST table (GEN_PSW_MAX_DIGITS, GEN_PSW_MAX_LETTERS, GEN_PSW_MAX_SPECIALS). It has been discovered that settings, such as setting GEN_PSW_MAX_SPECIALS to 0, do not consistently prevent the inclusion of special characters in passwords. This inconsistency stems from a source code error. A new switch, GEN_PSW_MAX_LENGTH, is introduced for defining password length, adhering to the system’s minimum password length requirements. Fixes are available via Support Packages SAPKB70007 and SAPKB70012.
