Starting from SAP GUI for Windows 6.40 patchlevel 10, a new ABAP Editor Control is installed, replacing sapabedit.ocx and offering an alternative to established ABAP editors in transactions like SE24, SE37, SE38, and SE80. Users must install at least patchlevel 21 for better functionality, enabling the selection of this new editor in SE38 and SE80. Additional configurations via the settings dialog include keyboard setup and code hint insertions, addressing also system prerequisites for older versions through specific SAP Notes. For troubleshooting, FAQs and limitations relating to editor features like syntax coloring and bug fixes are provided.
