Summary :
Cost elements of type 90 in SAP, which are ideally intended for material stock accounts or specific balance sheet accounts, can incorrectly be applied to any balance sheet accounts due to a bug in Transaction OKB3. The error lies in the cost element creation process within the IMG path (OKB2 -> OKB3 -> SM35). Users are advised to implement a provided correction to restrict the creation to the intended accounts and to remove any inappropriately created cost categories, assuming no dependent data exists. In high-risk scenarios, deactivating the account assignment check is possible but not recommended.
