Summary :
Changing the IP addresses of a host impacts the functionality of RFC destinations where the host is defined as the target host. This occurs due to the RFCDES database table's storage of the host name as an IP address. To mitigate issues after an IP change, transaction SM59 must be used to adjust RFC destination configurations. Use of SAP router name (/H/hostname) prevents IP storage and maintains the host name in RFCDES, preserving RFC destination functionality after IP changes. Resetting host name buffers is also recommended following changes to IP addresses.
