When attempting to display a note in the SAP Note Assistant, termination of the SAPLSCWN ABAP program may be required if the "Field symbol is not assigned" error message appears. This issue arises from a program error and affects the form routine WRITE_SAP_NOTE_RELEASE_FORM among others. For resolution, users should either import specified Support Packages or apply corrections via the SAP Note Assistant (SNOTE). Following the implementation, a restart of the Note Assistant using transaction code SNOTE is necessary to complete the correction process.
