SAP Note 856279 - MIGO: Proposed qty despite 'delivery completed' indicator

Component : Goods Receipt from External Procurement - Goods Receipt from External Procurement (MIGO)

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/856279 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
After setting the 'delivery completed' indicator in a purchase order item, the SAP system might still suggest a quantity for goods receipt in Transactions MB01 or MIGO, allowing users to post the receipt. This occurs despite the 'delivery completed' status which typically signals no further deliveries. This behavior is standard: the item is considered completed and removable, influences material requirements planning, but additional deliveries up to the total ordered quantity, inclusive of overdelivery tolerance, are possible. To avoid unwanted goods receipt postings, users can reduce the order quantity, block the order item, or set a 'Latest Possible Goods Receipt' date, configuring message M7163 as an error in Customizing.
