Summary :
SAP Note addresses the limitations of setting device types for different languages in SAPconnect, particularly affecting message conversion in various character sets. Previously, device types were set at node level allowing multiple settings per format, a flexibility lost in Release 6.10 where settings became centralized. The new solution, available post-Support Package implementation, allows language-dependent device type settings for all target formats via a central administrative interface in Transaction SCOT. A new database table stores these settings, and modifications are recognized during the send process, albeit initial entries prioritize existing configurations from the old system.
