Summary :
When processing returns in SAP SD, the returned quantity first posts to blocked stock returns, then moves to unrestricted-use stock. During this, if utilizing account-based CO-PA, error KI 235 "Account & requires an assignment to a CO object" might appear, and stock changes won't reflect in CO-PA. This happens due to missing sales order references when posting to blocked stock. To resolve, create a substitution exit for profitability segment determination as per Notes 39635 or 173071. Adjustments are necessary in RMWA subroutine "UXXX" and custom transports. Implementations in customizing for movement type settings can also be utilized. Note that this solution becomes obsolete with EHP4 which provides alternative handling as per Note 1167439.
