When executing goods movements, SAP locks the material in a specific plant to maintain data integrity, using MARC and MBEW lock objects to block updates from other transactions. The enhanced late material block feature in Release 3.0D allows simultaneous transactions by employing a Share lock, mitigating the singular access constraint but increasing database access and potentially affecting performance. Activation of this feature is configurable via Transaction OMJI, enabling users to balance the trade-offs between simultaneous access and system performance as per their operational priorities.
