Summary :
This SAP Note addresses a scenario where customer requirements entered via Transaction MD81 for consumption-based materials are not reduced during material issues. Additionally, planned independent requirements for materials planned with forecast-based, reorder point planning, or without any planning are not being reduced. Corrections for this issue are listed under "NOTE 68641" and have been incorporated in the standard SAP system as of Release 4.0. The note also describes a performance-oriented design wherein planned independent requirement checks are bypassed to avoid performance degradation but provides a workaround for earlier releases before 4.0, detailed with "NOTE 68641-2".
