SAP Note 666290 - Deleting "orphaned" job logs

Component : Background Processing - TemSe (Repository for temporary sequential objects)

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/666290 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
The SAP TST01 table is retaining job log headers or files that are older than corresponding entries in the TBTCO table. This discrepancy is caused by certain logs not being deleted due to issues like file system access problems, despite using the RSBTCDEL report's forced mode, which removes obsolete jobs but leaves behind orphan logs. The solution includes implementing updates to the RSTS0024 report, scheduling it weekly to manage these orphan logs effectively. Options to display logs without deletion and handling warnings when job counts exceed 200,000 are available for better control over log management.
