Summary :
This SAP Note addresses prolonged delays between the initiation and execution of print jobs. The root cause is identified as the spool work process (RSPOWP00) being overwhelmed due to the high rate of print job creation, causing it to exit its standard routine to process accumulated jobs, thus leading to substantial system slowdowns. This issue is exacerbated by a non-indexed sequential read operation on table TSP02. Solutions include redistributing printer loads to other work processes or servers, deactivating certain requests, and configurational adjustments to reduce job creation rates and optimize load handling within the SAP R/3 environment, which ensure the spool process functions within capacity.
Key words :
makes costly exception treatment usual, spool work process increases continuously, create spool requests preferably, sufficient free spool numbers, print data generation system, host spool confirmation request, spool work process carries, critical production printers assigned, host spool system, spool work processes
