Summary :
Excessive generation of offline redo logs is reported, related to Oracle Bug 2186174 and the behavior of index block splits. The Oracle parameter `fast_start_parallel_rollback` affects rollback process concurrency, significantly impacting offline redo log suppression. Default settings can lead to an archiver overload, necessitating adjustments, notably when an unusual volume of logs hampers system performance. By reverting `fast_start_parallel_rollback` to "FALSE", log generation normalizes. Resolving this issue permanently occurs in Oracle version 9.2.0.4.
