Summary :
The SAP Note describes unsupported scenarios in the R/3 system for discontinued parts in subcontract orders. Issues arise when components subject to discontinuation are linked to external processing operations or converted from in-house produced planned orders into subcontract requisitions and orders. These components are copied over maintaining their discontinuation status, which may lead to processing errors and restrictions in subsequent operations. Current system design does not support the recognition or adjustment of discontinuation statuses for subcontracting requirements. Users are advised to modify master data to prevent such errors, although no checks or error messages are currently implemented for these situations. The SAP systems do not plan to accommodate such functionality in upcoming releases due to various business and technical constraints.
