Summary :
When uploading XML format tree definitions across different SAP releases, several issues may arise. Incompatibilities can prevent the XML file from being imported due to unrecognized XML tags or because the tree type does not exist in the target release. Sometimes, the file appears to upload correctly yet fails to import specific data, resulting in an incomplete format tree. Additionally, even if the format tree seems intact post-upload, discrepancies may occur when generating files using this tree. To mitigate these issues, XML files should undergo a conversion during download if intended for a lower release version. Upon re-import, System B checks for proper conversion; unconverted files cannot be migrated. This process may lead to the loss of certain DMEE features only available in higher releases, necessitating thorough testing in the lower release environment. It is crucial to ensure that the tree type in the XML file is supported by the target SAP release to enable a successful upload.
