SAP Note 493980 - Reorganizing master data attributes and master data texts

Component : Master Data -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/493980 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
Frequent modifications in the master data attributes or texts of characteristics can lead to redundancies in the database tables, thereby prolonging data access times. The solution involves the reorganization of these tables (P, Q, T) to remove redundant data records, using two main processes: deletion of inactive M records in P and Q tables when their attributes match active A records, and consolidation of time intervals in Q and optionally T tables when successive intervals show identical values. This reorganization, introduced as a new process type, requires the import of BW3.0A Support Package 05, detailed in SAP Note 425998 and supported by Note 110934.

Key words :
respective database tables, terms master data, master data texts, identical attribute values, import support package 5, bw support packages, form larger intervals, redundant data records, time interval reason, changed attribute values
