This SAP Note addresses issues in transactions ME21N and ME51N where specific inputs, like material numbers, become invisible post certain actions, like entering vendor details or releasing a purchase requisition. This occurs because customizing does not save display attributes for the material number. Users at transaction level ME22N/ME52N can control these display attributes in Customizing by defining screen layouts, starting from release 4.6C. The remedy involves adjustments in Customizing tables (T162, T162X, T162Y) and backend corrections to ensure the correct display settings for material fields. Caution is advised when changing settings in table T162X to maintain system integrity.
