Summary :
In SAP environments, when outputting purchasing documents such as orders or requests for quotations, text outputs are capped at 72 characters. However, in the corresponding IDoc segments (E1EDKT2, E119EDPT2), the capacity is only 70 characters, potentially leading to data truncation. This issue persists despite updates from Notes 410989 and 446280. The anomaly originates from a malfunction in the FORMAT_TEXTLINE function module, which fails to correctly condense texts from 72 to 70 characters. Remediation involves a program correction. Relevant EDIFACT and ANSI X12 messages include ORDERS, ORDCHG, and REQOTE.
