Summary :
The BRCONNECT Version 6.10 initially provided in SAP kernel 4.6D SR2 only performed serial updates for optimizer statistics, leading to lengthy runtimes for large databases. A solution was introduced in the first patch of BRCONNECT 6.10, enabling parallel processing via the “-p” option or the “stats_parallel_degree” parameter, which allows users to set the number of parallel threads. However, benefits from parallel processing are less significant for smaller databases due to thread synchronization. Additionally, parallel processing isn’t supported on Reliant platforms. Users can refer to SAP Notes for detailed guidance and patches.
