Summary :
This SAP Note discusses managing input history in SAP GUI based on field name and field length. Historically, input history was only recorded for fields up to 30 characters, now extended to 40 characters. Fields 60 characters or longer do not retain history, aligning with user requests from earlier text editors setups. SAP GUI 7.10 patch 12 allows adjustment of history recording up to 255 characters via the options dialog (ALT+F12 -> Options), under the "Local data" tab. Changes become effective after restarting SAP GUI. Additionally, field-specific history settings can be managed via the context menu, using CTRL+right mouse button.
