SAP Note 375252 - SAPDBA: "brtools canceled by signal 13"

Component : Database Administration with Oracle -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/375252 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
SAPDBA reports a "FATAL import error" when executing actions associated with SAP's BRTOOLS, specifically during operations such as exporting or importing using chopped export dump files. This error, accompanied by the cancelation from “signal 13,” stems from potential corruption of 'named pipes' used repeatedly in export and import processes. Currently, the root cause of this pipe corruption is undetermined - it may be a bug related to the OS or Oracle’s export/import functions. A temporary workaround involves inspecting the export/import logs to determine the success of procedures. If logs indicate a successful operation, the restart plan should be manually adjusted, or the 'named pipe' should be recreated. This issue is addressed in SAPDBA 4.6D, Patch 21, and in Release 4.5B from Patch 103, which prevents ‘named pipe’ reuse through automatic regeneration in each procedure step.
