Summary :
A program executing OLE-based communications may unexpectedly terminate due to the maximum work process hold time being exceeded. This issue arises when the runtime limit set in the profile (30 seconds) is reached during a dialog step from server to frontend and back, which includes OLE calls. As a consequence, the frontend process is terminated by the dispatcher after this duration. From version 3.1H onwards, the system mitigates this by rolling out and subsequently reactivating the work process on completion of the OLE call. Reference SAP Note 76284 for further details.
Key words :
maximum work process hold time exceeded, additional key words max_hold_time exceeded, calling work process, server -> frontend -> server, frontend process, maximum runtime, executes communication, ole terminates, dialog step, prerequisites
